Tora Bora 2001

The battle of Tora Bora was the last opportunity to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden before he made his escape into Pakistan. The CIA along with some Special Forces operatives attempted to get to bin Laden - but were unsuccessful. The reliance of Afghan militia groups was partially successful and the reluctance of the Defense Department to fully engage with ground troops proved to be significant.
