The military community uses a multitude and variety of terms, phrases, and expressions in its vocabulary. This is especially true in the Afghan theater of operations. Some terms, phases, and words are formal in nature while others are derived from common usage. This glossary is intended to assist those new to the Afghan theater or others unfamiliar with terminology or slang used by those working or serving in Afghanistan.

QA. Quality Assurance.
QAR. Quality Assurance Representative.
Qargha. The location fo "Sandhurst in the Sand". A one-year long ANA officers academy run by the Brits. The first class started in October 2013. The academy is modeled after the British Army's Sandhurst. See a news story about the officer's academy here.
Qazi. Judge, usually found under Islamic Sharia law.
QCRB. Quarterly Campaign Review Board.
QRD. Quick Reaction Drill.
QRF. Quick Reaction Force.
QSF. Kandahar Strike Force.
QSL. Acknowledge Receipt. A commo term.
