The 3rd SFAB stood up in 2018 at Fort Hood, Texas. It immediately
began training to deploy on a 10-month long tour to the Central Command
area of operations. The 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade deployed to Afghanistan in
2019 - with some elements deployed to Iraq.

Fort Hood Herald. The 3rd SFAB stood up in 2018 and then trained to
deploy on a 10-month long deployment to the Central Command area of
operations. During the coronavirus pandemic the SFAB was forced to
conduct "virtual advising".
