Task Force Dagger
Task Force Dagger was the first operational task
force in Afghanistan from October 2001 to April 2002, which led to the
fall of the Taleban government and the eviction of al-Qaeda leadership
from Afghanistan. Soon after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Task Force
Dagger was directed to conduct special operations missions in support of
Northern Alliance commanders in Afghanistan. The intent was to gain their
active assistance in the overthrow of the Taliban regime.
