Camp Atterbury

There are eight mlitary installations housing Afghan evacuees. Camp Atterbury, Indiana is one of them. The camp had received about 7,200 evacuees. By the end of November almost 3,000 had been resettled in communities across the United States from Camp Atterbury. The camp housing the Afghan evacuees closed in the last week of January.

January 18, 2023, "Operation Allies Welcome: Lessons from a DSCA Mission", Modern War Institute at West Point. Jeb Graydon, the operations officer for 2-12 Cavalry, 1st ABCT, 1st  Cavalry Division, descibes his battalion's mission of receiving and processing thousands of Afghans who were evacuated from Kabul during the NEO airlift of August 2021.

January 24, 2022. "Afghan resettlement work wrapping up at Indiana Guard base", Associated Press News.

November 18, 2021. "About half of Camp Atterbury's Afghan refugees have left to settle into new lives", The Indianapolis Star.
