Afghan Evacuees and Mexico

Kabul NEO > Countries > Mexico

Some Afghans at-risk seek to leave Afghanistan for other countries around the world. Although not a neighboring country, Mexico has become a destination for some refugees.

Some Afghans travel to South American countries, like Brazil, on a visa and then make their way to Mexico via the Darien Gap. In 2023, approximately 2,600 Afghans traveled this route. [1]

Amnesty International Report of Afghan Evacuee Destinations
