Moral Injury and Afghanistan

The fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban in August 2022 would be the source of moral injury to numerous U.S. veterans who served tours in Afghanistan during the 20-year long U.S. involvement in the Afghan conflict. It was also a source of moral injury to the many 'volunteer' workers of the Afghan Evac community who assisted Afghans seeking safety at the Hamid Karzai International Airport during the Kabul non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) and the many months since then..
